Have you ever considered your brain?
It's a wondrous hunk of meat - weighs about three pounds. If your brain was lobster it would be worth about $60 bucks. But it's not that good with butter sauce. Although it's terrific with a large order of Algebra and a side order of philosophy - everything you do creates new creases in your brain - deeper and deeper channels of thought, understanding and inquiry. The question is, how do you, as an individual, create your own creases?
How do you learn? Some of us cannot get enough of music; others can't stand it. Some of us could find our way out of any concrete canyon, in any city in the world, simply by instinct; others get lost in their own backyard. Some of us learn by touch - we have to do it to understand it; others just listen and understand. Some of us look at mathematical formulas and wet ourselves; others are inspired. The fact is, our brains are unique - like three pound Jello fingerprints - that are more expensive than lobster but don't taste as good.
Once you learn how you learn your world opens up. Your brain is a blossom that can be pollinated by the bees of knowledge. And you can make creases in that big ol' blob of learning any ol' time you want - honey in the honeycomb of your mind (to drive the metaphor into the ground). But oh, how that learning is sweet (sorry, I can't seem to stop).
Take the time to figure out how you learn. The results are well worth your time. And regardless of how you learn, if it helps you learn, do it. Do it. Learn. Make creases. Enjoy your brain like a perfectly cooked piece of lobster dripping in butter sauce. I promise, you won't be disappointed. And you'll walk away perfectly full.
